FUNCTIONS OF THE DIRECTORATE OF FORENSICS AND CHEMICAL MONITORING:
Receiving, Analysis and Identification of seized drugs and precursors samples from across the Federation.
Identification and dismantling of clandestine drug manufacturing laboratories.
Presentation of Expert evidence in courts across the Federation to aid successful prosecution of drug offenses.
Revalidation of drug exhibits prior to their destruction at Public destruction of Exhibits exercises.
Monitoring of use of precursors and other controlled chemicals to prevent and identify diversion from licit sources to illicit use.
Interface with relevant regulatory Agencies on implementation of the Licit component of the National Drug Control Master Plan.
